Prostate Cancer Awareness Month: Take Your Health Into Your Hands
By Lamont Mitchell, Founder
September is a reminder to act early, ask questions, and know the numbers that matter. KYNDC is calling on men—especially Black men across Washington, D.C.—to prioritize their health, talk with their healthcare providers, and take the next step toward early detection and prevention.
FOR LAMONT THE MISSION IS PERSONAL
Lamont Mitchell is a Washingtonian, Howard University alumnus, founder of Know Your Numbers DC, and a prostate cancer survivor. His experience with prostate cancer became the driving force behind KYNDC and his commitment to helping Black men become more informed, proactive, and engaged in their health.
Too many men delay doctor visits, avoid difficult conversations, or simply do not know the numbers that matter. Lamont’s mission is to change that by encouraging men to ask questions, get tested, and become active partners in their healthcare.
